Privacy policy

Last updated: 15 September 2026.

This policy explains what data is processed when you use daytours.rome.it and your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Italian law. The short version: the site is static, has no accounts, sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics; data reaches third parties only through the booking widgets and links you choose to use.

1. Controller

The data controller for this site is the publisher of Day Tours Rome, reachable at travel@daytours.rome.it. Write to that address for any request under this policy.

2. What we do not collect

The site has no registration, login, comments, newsletter or forms. We do not ask for your name, email, payment details or location and do not profile visitors. There is no advertising network and no analytics script. Fonts and the search index are served from our own domain. The only third-party contact a page makes before you reach a widget is a "preconnect" hint that lets your browser open an early connection to widget.getyourguide.com so the booking widget loads faster; that handshake carries no page content, identifier or cookie from us.

3. Server logs

Like every website, our hosting infrastructure records technical logs when a page is requested: IP address, date and time, page requested, referring page and browser type. They are used only to keep the site running, detect abuse and measure aggregate traffic, and are deleted or anonymised on the provider's standard schedule. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR art. 6(1)(f)).

Some pages embed booking widgets from GetYourGuide (widget.getyourguide.com), Tiqets (widgets.tiqets.com) and Headout (partner.headout.com). The scripts load only when the embed is about to appear on your screen. Your browser then connects to that partner's servers, which may set their own cookies and record that you viewed the widget; those cookies are the partner's and are governed by its privacy policy.

Links to partner products lead directly to the partner's website, are marked as sponsored and nofollow, and carry our partner code so the partner can attribute a later booking to this site. We receive aggregated commission statements only, never your name, contact details, payment data or itinerary. If you book, the partner is an independent controller of the data you give them.

You can prevent the widgets from loading by using a content blocker or by not scrolling to them; the text content of every page works without them.

5. Email

If you write to travel@daytours.rome.it we process your address, name if given, and the content of your message in order to answer you, on the basis of our legitimate interest in handling correspondence. Messages are kept as long as needed to deal with the request and for a reasonable period afterwards, then deleted. Please do not send booking references, identity documents or payment details; we never need them.

6. Browser storage

The site's own code does not write cookies, local storage or session storage; your language choice is carried in the page address. If a future version needs to remember a preference, this policy will be updated first.

7. Recipients and transfers

Technical logs are processed by our hosting provider as a processor on our behalf. Partner widgets and links transmit data directly to GetYourGuide, Tiqets and Headout, which operate inside and outside the European Economic Area under their own safeguards. We do not sell or rent data, and we share nothing with advertisers.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may access the personal data we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, restrict or object to its processing, receive it in a portable format where applicable, and withdraw consent at any time. Since we hold almost no personal data, most requests will concern email; send them to travel@daytours.rome.it and we answer within one month. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in Italy the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

9. Children

The site is not directed at children and we knowingly collect no data from them.

10. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes in the site or the law. The current version is always at this address, with its "last updated" date at the top. Our terms of use cover the other conditions of using the site.
