What Cab Shuttle Taxi Roma is
Cab Shuttle Taxi Roma is a Rome-based NCC company: licensed cars with drivers, booked in advance at a quoted price, used for airport and port transfers and for driver-for-the-day trips out of the city. The client sheet lists it as a pair of Google Maps entries; the business behind them runs a bilingual site, cabshuttletaxi.com, whose footer names the legal entity as Limo VIP Driver Soc. Coop. with an Italian VAT number and a copyright line running from 2012. No street address, licence number or fleet count is published.
That already puts it ahead of most Maps-only drivers. You can read a fares table before you call, which is the single most useful thing an NCC firm can publish. The rest of this review is about what those fares cover and what you still need to pin down.
What it sells from Rome
The site splits into three products. Transfers: Fiumicino or Ciampino to central Rome, the port of Civitavecchia, and one-way runs to towns around Lazio and beyond. Driver days: a car and driver from morning to evening, priced as a lump sum. Private tours: the same driver day packaged with a suggested route and, as extras, a licensed guide and entry tickets.
Every price is per vehicle, and the vehicle tiers matter. The site quotes a Mercedes E-Class sedan for up to three or four passengers, a Mercedes V-Class minivan for up to seven and a Vito or Opel Vivaro van for eight. Luggage does not change the fare; the FAQ says tolls and ZTL permits are included, child seats are free on request and the driver waits up to 90 minutes without charge if your flight or train is late.
Published fares, per vehicle
| Route (cabshuttletaxi.com fares page) | Sedan | Minivan |
|---|---|---|
| Fiumicino → central Rome | €60 | €80 (€90 in the 8-seat van) |
| Ciampino → central Rome | €60 | €80 |
| Rome → Civitavecchia port | €165 | €190 (€200 for 8 seats) |
| Rome → Tivoli, one way | €90 | €120 |
| Rome → Orvieto, one way | €400 | €500 |
| Rome → Naples, one way | €550 | €650 |
| Naples, full day out and back | €600 | €700 |
| Pompeii / Amalfi Coast, full day | €650 | €750 |
| Florence, full day out and back | €650 | €750 |
Two things to notice. First, the Civitavecchia figure is not consistent: the fares page says €165 in a sedan, while the company's own "NCC Civitavecchia" page quotes €120 for the same car, €125 for the V-Class and €130 for the eight-seater. Ask which one applies and get it on the quote. Second, the day rates are the driver only. On the private-tours page the Naples & Pompeii day is €750 in a sedan plus €150 for a private guide plus a per-person Pompeii ticket the site lists at €30, which is above the €25 full ticket (€20 Express) published on pompeiisites.org, so query that line. Tivoli is €500 in a sedan, €600 in a minivan, with a three-hour guide at €200 and Villa d'Este and Villa Gregoriana tickets listed at €20 a head; the official Villa d'Este ticket is €15 on the villae.cultura.gov.it ticketing, so ask what the extra covers.

How it compares with booking on a platform
The honest comparison is per seat. Prices are checked regularly; the GetYourGuide private products below are sold per group, so the maths is the same kind.
- Tivoli. Cab Shuttle's driver-only day is €500 in a sedan; the private Tivoli trip on GetYourGuide is €199 per group for eight hours. Check what the platform product includes before you decide, but the gap is large enough that the platform wins for a couple and the NCC firm only starts to make sense if you want to string Tivoli together with somewhere else.
- Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. €650–750 for the car, plus guide and tickets, against €1,450 per group for the full-day private tour on GetYourGuide. Here the NCC quote is competitive, which is exactly the format where a local driver firm earns its keep; read our private day trips guide for how the day is usually structured.
- Airport. €60 per sedan is in line with the private Fiumicino transfer on GetYourGuide at €75; the difference is that the platform booking carries a refund policy you can read.
- Civitavecchia. For two people the Civitavecchia shuttle at €15 a head or the regional train covered in our Civitavecchia cruise guide beats any private car. From four people up, €120–165 per car becomes reasonable.

The checklist before you pay
The site publishes fares but not the things that go wrong. We could not find a cancellation policy, a deposit rule, or a payment method on any page; the contact form promises a quote "within minutes" by email or WhatsApp. So before you send money:
- Get the quote in writing with the vehicle class, the date, the pick-up address and time, and the price with tolls and parking stated as included.
- Ask for the NCC licence number and the name of the cooperative on the confirmation. Italian NCC cars carry a licence from their municipality; the FAQ cites the law but the site does not print a number.
- Ask what happens if you cancel 48 hours out, and if the driver is late.
- Pay by card or on invoice rather than a cash deposit. If the answer is cash only, book the equivalent on a platform instead.
- For a day south, agree the route and the return time before departure. Twelve hours Rome–Positano–Rome is normal; ten is tight.
Verdict
Cab Shuttle Taxi Roma is a plausible, price-transparent NCC operator for groups who fill a car: a family to the port, three friends to Tivoli and Villa d'Este, six people to Pompeii who do not want a coach. Its published day rates for the south are fair against the platform equivalent. For a couple, or for anything where a refund policy matters more than a saving, the comparable product on GetYourGuide is easier to book and easier to cancel.
