What LUXURBE is
LUXURBE presents itself as an Italian luxury travel platform: private tours "on wheels and on foot" in what it calls four iconic European cities, with Rome and Florence live and Madrid announced as coming. In Rome the catalogue has two halves. One is transport: NCC chauffeur transfers between the city and Fiumicino, Ciampino and the port of Civitavecchia, intercity runs to Florence and Naples, and a chauffeur by the hour for meetings, events or shopping. The other is sightseeing: private golf-cart loops, e-tuk rides, Vespa sidecar tours, a Fiat 500 night drive, walking tours of the squares and fountains or the seven hills, food tours and cooking classes.
The client sheet lists LUXURBE as a Google Maps entry. There is a proper site behind it, in Italian, English and Spanish, with a Rome address in the footer (Via Matteo Renato Imbriani 28) and an online checkout. What the site does not show, on any page we could read, is a company name, a VAT number or an NCC licence number. Its own robots file also asks crawlers to stay out, and the pages are built as an app, so the prices attached to each transfer and tour did not appear in our fetch. We quote none.
How a booking works
Transfers are a three-step form: choose the category (airport, port, intercity or hourly), give the date, time and pick-up point, then pick a vehicle class and pay by card. The confirmation text says the chauffeur waits at arrivals with a name sign, helps with luggage and may contact you on the day. The site states that all prices include estimated VAT, fees and tolls, which is the right promise; make sure the figure you see on screen is the figure you are charged.
Tours use a separate booking widget. LUXURBE also has a supplier page on GetYourGuide, so some of the same products can be bought through the platform. That matters for one reason: a platform booking carries a published cancellation policy and a support line, and we could not find LUXURBE's own cancellation terms.
What it costs against the platform
Because LUXURBE's prices live inside its checkout, the only fair thing we can do is give you the platform benchmarks for the same formats. Prices checked regularly; the private products are per vehicle or per group.
- Airport transfer. The private Fiumicino transfer is €75 per car on GetYourGuide, and the either-airport option €180. Rome's municipal taxis also run a fixed fare from Fiumicino to the centre set by the city; our airports and transfers guide gives the current figure and explains when a private car is worth it.
- Private golf cart. The platform range is €42 to €75 per group for 90 minutes to three hours (see the golf-cart page). A luxury brand will sit above that; decide what the extra buys you, usually a smarter cart, hotel pick-up and a driver who is also the guide.
- Civitavecchia. A private sedan to the port is the format where premium transport is most often bought and least often needed for two people: the port shuttle is €15 a head and the train is covered in our Civitavecchia guide. For a family with luggage the calculation flips.
- Driver for a day. LUXURBE sells the hourly chauffeur and intercity runs rather than a packaged Pompeii or Tivoli day. Against that, the private Tivoli trip is €199 per group for eight hours and the private Pompeii and Amalfi day €1,450 per group; the Cab Shuttle Taxi review gives a local NCC firm's published day rates for the same routes.

What to check before paying
An NCC service is legal in Italy only with a municipal licence, and the car should carry it. LUXURBE says it works with "carefully chosen guides and partners", which suggests at least some of the driving and guiding is subcontracted. That is normal; it just means the licence on the day belongs to the partner, not the brand. Ask the following in writing:
- Which company issues the invoice, and its VAT number.
- The NCC licence number of the vehicle assigned to you, or the name of the licensed partner.
- The cancellation rule and refund window.
- For golf carts: the route, since carts are restricted in parts of the historic centre, and whether the driver is a licensed guide or a driver who narrates.
- For the hourly chauffeur: the minimum booking, and whether waiting time, parking and tolls are inside the hourly figure.
Comparable local competitors: Rome in Golf Cart and Turtle Tours on the cart side, Cab Shuttle Taxi on the transfer side.
Verdict
LUXURBE looks like a real, organised premium brand with card checkout and a Rome address, and the formats it sells (chauffeur transfers, hourly driver, private cart and sidecar tours) are the right ones for someone who wants the comfort and does not mind paying for it. The gaps are transparency gaps: no prices outside the checkout, no legal identity on the site, no readable cancellation terms. If the quote clears the platform benchmarks by a margin you are happy with, and the answers to the checklist arrive in writing, it is a reasonable choice. If not, book the equivalent on GetYourGuide, where the refund rule is printed.
