Rome in Golf Cart is a small licensed Rome company selling private golf cart loops of the centre from 1.5 to 7 hours, plus Vespa sidecar rides. It suits families with small children, older travellers and anyone with limited mobility who wants the centre in one sitting on the arrival day or the evening after a day trip. Price level per the site: from €53 for 3 hours to €159 for a 6-hour day with the catacombs, although whether that is per person or per cart is not stated on the listing.
What Rome in Golf Cart actually is
Unlike many golf cart brands in Rome, this one is not just a Maps pin. The contact page of romeingolfcart.com publishes a legal name (Romeplusultra S.r.l.s.), a VAT number, an office address at Via dei Funari 25 in the Jewish Ghetto, an A/B travel agency licence number and the insurer and policy number behind it. The home page says the company has been on the road since 2012 and names a guide, Ivano, as the person who personalises the tours. The site displays a third-party review badge with a count in the low hundreds; we did not verify it and quote no score.
That is the checklist we apply to any local seller: address, legal entity, licence, insurance. Rome in Golf Cart passes it on paper. What the site does not tell you is the fleet size, how many drivers work under the brand, or the cancellation terms per tour, which we could not find on the tour pages we read.
What it sells and how you book
Booking is on the site's own form or by phone and WhatsApp. The catalogue when we checked:
| Tour | Length | Format | "From" price on the site |
|---|---|---|---|
| All in 3 hours mini tour | 3 h | private | €53 |
| 4 hours history and fun | 4 h | private, up to 7 | €65 |
| Semi-private 3-hour tour | 3 h | shared cart | €96 |
| Catacombs and the Appian Way | 2.5 h | private | €115 |
| Full day Rome in golf cart | 6 h | private | €99 |
| Full day best of Rome and the catacombs | 6 h | private | €159 |
| Tours for cruisers | 7 h | private | €127 |
| Rome by night | 2 h | private | €50 |
| Vespa sidecar (90 min to 3 h) | 1.5–3 h | private | €62–€112 |
The 4-hour tour, the most-booked according to the site, includes hotel pick-up and drop-off and an English-speaking driver-guide, and excludes lunch and entrance tickets. The itinerary is the Jewish Ghetto, Piazza Margana, Theatre of Marcellus, Capitoline Hill for the Forum view, Pantheon, Trevi, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona and a Colosseum drive-by and stop. The page notes that some stretches are on foot, which is true of every cart tour in Rome: carts are street-legal electric vehicles and cannot enter the pedestrian squares, so the fountain and the Pantheon are always a short walk.

What the platforms charge for the same format
We could not tie any GetYourGuide golf cart listing to this company, so treat the platform products as competitors rather than the same product. On GetYourGuide the shared 2-hour formats start at €39 and the private carts at €42 per vehicle (prices checked regularly):

The private GetYourGuide carts (€42 to €75 per vehicle for 1.5 to 3 hours) are cheaper than Rome in Golf Cart's "from" prices if those are per person, and more expensive if they are per cart. That single question decides the comparison, which is why we tell you to ask it.
The practical detail
Pick-up. Hotel pick-up and drop-off are listed as included on the 4-hour tour; the office is in the Ghetto if you prefer to walk in.
Group size. Private tours state up to 7 people, which suggests six-seat carts plus the driver or a second cart; confirm the number of carts for a party of more than five.
Tickets. Colosseum entry is described on the 4-hour page as pre-ordered so you skip the queue, but "not included" covers "any extras". Ask in writing whether the nominative Colosseum ticket is in the price or added at cost; the same goes for catacomb entry on the Appian tours.
Cancellation. Not shown on the tour pages we read. Get the policy by email before you pay, and pay by card through the site rather than a cash deposit.
Contact hours. The site lists WhatsApp hours aligned to US time zones, a clue to its main market.
Booking direct or on a platform
Book direct if you want a specific long format (the 6-hour days, the cruise-passenger day, the sidecar) that the platforms do not sell in the same shape, and if the company confirms price basis and cancellation in writing. Book the golf cart tours on GetYourGuide when you want a fixed per-vehicle price, free cancellation and a review count you can read. For most first-time visitors doing a 2-hour orientation, the platform product is the lower-risk buy.
Verdict
Rome in Golf Cart publishes more than most local sellers, which counts for a lot, and its catalogue of long private days is wider than anything on the platforms. Two things stop us recommending it over a platform product without a call first: the "from" price with no stated basis, and the missing cancellation terms on the tour pages. Get both in writing and it is a reasonable private option. For a comparison with the other private-cart brand we reviewed, see Turtle Tours, which publishes a full per-party price table.
