What Through Eternity is
Through Eternity is a guide-led company that has sold Rome, Vatican, Florence, Venice and Pompeii tours for 25 years by its own count, and now lists Naples, Sicily, Spain, France, Porto, London and Istanbul as well. Its terms name the legal entity as Allyn Travel LLC, doing business as Through Eternity Tours, in Stamford, Connecticut; the site's contact block adds an Italian mobile line and a US toll-free number with office hours 07:30 to midnight, Rome time. The company sells storytelling guides, art historians and archaeologists, and its city products come in "semi-private" group form with per-person prices that include entry.
Its day trips from Rome are a different animal. All of them are listed as private tours, and the terms spell out the pricing basis: a private price covers up to two people, includes entrance fees, and each additional person adds a fee shown at checkout. Read "Starting at €301" as "€301 for a couple", not per head.
What it sells from Rome
| Day trip | Length | Transport | Price for up to 2 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ostia Antica | 5 h | Public train (fare not included) | €301 |
| Pompeii by fast train + car | 2 h 30 guided on site | High-speed train Rome–Naples and car Naples–Pompeii included | €413 |
| Tivoli: Villa Adriana + Villa d'Este | 7 h incl. travel, 09:30 start | Private car both ways | €737 |
| Amalfi Coast by train + car | 12 h, 09:00 start | Train to Naples, then an English-speaking driver for 8 h | €511 |
| Rome to Florence by train | Full day | By train (see the listing for what is included) | €473 |
| Bracciano, Caprarola and Viterbo | Full day | Private tour (see the listing) | €870 |
Prices are as published in euros at the time of checking. The Ostia page says the train to Ostia costs €1.50 each way, paid at the station; that is the company's figure, so check the current Metromare fare on our Ostia page before you go. The Amalfi day is driver-guided only: the driver talks in the car, and you walk Positano, Amalfi and Ravello on your own.
The day-trips hub also writes about Herculaneum, but no Herculaneum day trip from Rome was listed with a price when we checked, so treat that as a request rather than a listed departure.

What premium buys you
Ostia is where the maths works. Two people pay €301, so about €150 each, against €49 per person on the GetYourGuide group tour by train: three times the price for a private archaeologist, tickets handled, and a start time you choose. Add the train fare and it is still the cheapest private day in Lazio.
Tivoli is where it does not. €737 for two is €368 each against €65 on the coach tour, and against €199 per vehicle for the private Tivoli day on GetYourGuide, which also includes a car. You are paying for the specialist guide and the brand; decide whether that is worth roughly €500 more than the platform's private car.
Pompeii by train at €413 for two is honest about what it is: a 2 h 30 private walk with an archaeologist, the Frecciarossa there and back, and a car for the Naples–Pompeii leg so you skip the Circumvesuviana (see trains from Rome for the DIY version). Compare it with the €129 per-person guided train day on GetYourGuide; for a couple the numbers are close (€413 against €258), and the private version wins on flexibility.

Booking terms worth knowing
Full payment is taken at booking; the terms list PayPal, bank wire or cheque as accepted methods, and the site has an online booking flow. Product pages promise a full refund if you cancel more than 24 hours ahead, minus any ticket costs; the terms add that tickets are bought far in advance and are charged on a date change, that date changes depend on guide and ticket availability, and that late arrival or a missed train is not refunded. The meeting point is on your confirmation.
How it compares with a platform booking or the train
For Ostia, the alternative is the Metromare from Porta San Paolo and a ticket at the gate, which our Ostia Antica page walks through hour by hour; a private guide is a luxury on a site this readable, but a good one. For Tivoli, the Cotral bus plus the local bus to Villa Adriana is the budget route and the GetYourGuide private car is the mid-price route; Through Eternity is the top of the ladder. For Pompeii, the train products on GetYourGuide sit in the same price band per couple with a platform's cancellation cover and public ratings, which Through Eternity's own review widget does not replace.
Verdict
Book Through Eternity for Ostia or Pompeii if you are two and want a private specialist without a driver; skip it for Tivoli unless the guide is the whole point. Everything here is verifiable on the site, but read "Starting at" as a price for two and budget the tickets you cannot get back. Compare with LivTours for a six-person format and Walks of Italy for an 18-seat Pompeii–Amalfi day. Prices checked regularly.
